Mr. Cashin is the Managing Partner of One Equity Partners (OEP) (April 2001 to Present), which manages $5.0 billion of investments and commitments for J.P. Morgan in direct private equity transactions. Prior to joining OEP, Mr. Cashin was Managing Partner of Cashin Capital Partners (April 2000 - April 2001) and with Citigroup Venture Capital (September 1980 – April 2000 and served as President from 1994-2000). As the son of a foreign service officer, Mr. Cashin grew up in Libya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia and Pakistan. In 1974, he was a world champion in rowing, and was part of the 1976 and 1980 U.S. Olympic Rowing teams.
Mr. Cashin serves on the Boards of GENBAND and Titan International. He is a Trustee of the American University in Cairo, Boys Club of New York, Brooklyn Museum, Central Park Conservancy, Jazz at Lincoln Center, National Rowing Foundation, Community Rowing Inc., Newport Festivals Foundation and is Co-Chairman of the Partnership Fund for New York City. He is active in inner-city educational initiatives, Harvard fundraising, and has served as co-chairman of his Harvard class for over 35 years.
Mr. Cashin attended Harvard University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in East Asian Studies. Following a one year fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge in 1976, he worked at Jardine Matheson in Hong Kong (1976-1978). In 1980, he completed his M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.
